Conflict of Interest Transparency Document Introduction Mitoxantrone (MXT) is an androstenedione chemotherapeutic agent that is used to treat acute nonlymphocytic leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, prostate cancer, metastatic breast cancer, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma [13], [14]. It is

Acknowledgments We thank the anonymous reviewers for their constructive comments on the manuscript, and also thank Dr. Hans-U. Dahms for his comments on the manuscript. This work was supported by a grant from the National Research Foundation (2009-0071218) funded to Young-Mi Lee. This work was al

  2024-10-11

Among different ARQ197 of pesticide, organophosphates as well as pyrethroids are more frequently used because of their high insecticidal property, low mammalian toxicity, less persistence and rapid biodegradability in the environment. These compounds are used extensively in agriculture supposed to

  2024-10-11

The difficulty of characterizing nAChRs in the central nervous system is also exemplified by early observations that nicotine caused no detectable effect when applied on a brain slice and it is only with the focal and high time resolution of more recent experiments that the effects of nicotinic neur

Altogether, the situations described above clearly impede the critical steps of drug discovery and development and the scientific process in general [14]. In conclusion, it is the opinion of these authors that many exciting lines of drug discovery (which includes those devoted to nAChR ligands) hav

Our previous studies found that some steroid mimetic structures such as stilbene, biphenyl, naphthalene and benzothiophene rings were suitable for lipophilic moieties of 17,20-lyase inhibitors, and several inhibitors obtained using a steroid A, C-ring mimetic approach have already been published. Du

  2024-10-11

Aurora kinases were initially identified as protein kinases essential for error-free chromosome segregation during mitosis and meiosis. Aurora A appears to control premetaphase events, such as bipolar spindle assembly 3, 4, with Aurora B and C directing metaphase and postmetaphase events, including

  2024-10-11

Roles of Aurora kinases in directly activating multiple oncogenic pathways and promoting proliferation as well as transformation have also been demonstrated. Aurora-A has been shown to up-regulate telomerase reverse transcriptase mRNA through c-myc [26]. The kinase was also implicated in activating

Aurora-A, Aurora-B and Aurora-C small molecule inhibitors Nicholas et al. described phenotypic cellular screening of new highly potent and selective class of Aurora kinase inhibitors. Fragment based approach was utilized; core structure of 57 (Fig. 5) was optimized and selective inhibitor 58 (Fig

In GSK256066 australia to TPX2, members of the CPC (Figure 1B), such as survivin, borealin, and INCEN-P, which associate with Aurora B/C in animals, do not appear to have obvious homologs in plants. Recently, however, a putative INCEN-P homolog, termed WYRD, has been identified [34]. Sequence compa

In the current study, SA was assessed to confirm the safety of CS addition to erythrocytes SA as well as SA elicits antioxidant action. It has been reported that, ROS induced desialylation by depletion of SA content from cell surfaces (Pawluczyk et al., 2014, Harisa, 2015). Therefore, significant de

In past, Zebra fish (Danio rerio) has emerged as a suitable model for early vertebrate development, and a number of targeted mutations in the zebrafish genome led to phenotypic alterations that resemble human diseases [34]. A 12-LOX in Zebra fish has been cloned and knock down of this zf12-LOX enzym

  2024-10-10

AhR is also known to “cross-talk” with a variety of other cell signaling pathways, which has been the focus of a number of recent reviews [40], [41], [42]. It has long been known that TCDD is anti-estrogenic. For example, activation of AhR by TCDD and related HAHs inhibits estrogen dependent uterus
