Thalidomide is now a well known antiangiogenic agent. This property of thalidomide is being extensively researched upon, for its significant utility in the treatment of various malignant tumors. Studies show that thalidomide efficaciously inhibits various pro-angiogenic factors such as tumor necrosi

There is a growing body of evidence showing that pentobarbital causes memory disorders [3], [4], [5]. Our results that a single injection of pentobarbital into bilateral hippocampus significantly impaired hippocampus-dependent spatial memory retrieval (Fig. 1) add support to that evidence. Previous

The direction of research then turned to investigating the long-term effects of adiponectin on insulin resistance. Adiponectin transgenic mice showed a reduction in insulin resistance and diabetes [5,6], while adiponectin-deficient mice showed mild insulin resistance with glucose intolerance, as wel

Tissue distribution showed that ctrp9 was abundantly expressed in the kidney of male and female tilapia. In mice, the Ctrp9 was identified in adipose tissue, and the expression levels were higher in females than that of males (Wong et al., 2009). Recent studies indicated that Ctrp9 was also expresse

It has been suggested that the suppression of 5-LOX could promote apoptotic signaling pathways in cancers [6]. However, the role of 5-LOX in modulating apoptotic factors and neutrophil activation during ANP has not yet been evaluated. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the expression of 5-LOX in pa

The diagnosis of ICP is currently based on the presence of pruritus, raised fasting serum TBS levels above 10μmol/L, and/or elevated serum transaminases (in the absence of diseases that cause cholestasis or pruritus) as well as spontaneous relief of signs and symptoms within four to six weeks after
